It's been a hectic couple of weeks for the Voices for Christchurch team. We've scoured New York for the best possible venue to perform our benefit concert for Christchurch. We've finally found a suitable space with a great attitude. Last minute details are being sorted, and we'll get back to you early next week with a date, time and place.
We've partnered with ANZA, KEA, THE KIWI CLUB OF NEW YORK, and LITTLE KIWIS - the support for the earthquake of these NZ groups in the Big Apple has been truly awesome. The US Salvation Army is on board to direct funds straight to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal- and The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice is lending logistical and artistic support.
Our evolving lineup for Voices for Christchurch includes celebrated kiwi opera singers, soprano Marie Te Hapuku, and baritone, Kerry Henderson, as well as friends and colleagues, Metropolitan Opera baritone, Louis Otey and the French/Italian mezzo-soprano Maria Todaro.
